日本のヒップホップ・ユニット HB の作品。
” Discipline ” のラストのフリップとブリューによるギターのシーケンシャル・フレーズをサンプリングして、イントロからラストまで鳴らし続けている。
ドラムではなくギターのシーケンシャル・フレーズをブレイク・ビーツとして活用するという手法がこの世界でどれだけポピュラーなのかは知識が無く判らないのだが、聴いていて格好良いと思う。

私はこのユニットについての情報を本作品日本盤の解説以外持ち合わせていないのだが、シングル ” Glam Raid ” でデビューした後のファースト・アルバムとなる。
” King Boz ” においては、” Peoria ” でのボズの絶唱パートの前半とその後のメル・コリンズのサックスがサンプリングされている。 何故ペオリアなのかと考えざるを得ない選択は渋いが、楽曲としての面白さはあまり無い。

アルバムに先行してリリースされた 12inch のピクチャー・ディスクの本作を入手した際の衝撃は今でも忘れられない。
プログレど真ん中の ” 21st Century Schizoid Man ” を、ヒップホップど真ん中のカニエ・ウェストがサンプリングするという発想が素晴らしいし、出来上がった楽曲が誰をも唸らせる楽曲に仕上がっているところがまた素晴らしい。
