イーノ本人名義の新作。
カテゴライズすること自体が無意味と承知の上で言うと、本作品はイーノが取り組み続けているアンビエント作品の一つである。 本作品の日本盤帯には「17年ぶりのヴォーカル・アルバム」と記載してあるが、一聴して判る通りイーノ他数人のヴォーカルが楽曲の構成音の一つとして使われているだけで、歌を聴かせることに主眼を置いた作品ではない。 イーノが唄うことにどれだけの需要があるのか判らないが、「ドローン中心の他のアンビエント作品と異なり、バラエティに富んだアンビエントな楽曲で構成され聴きやすい作品」と言った方が購入の動機づけになると思う。
イーノのキャリアにはロック史を変えたような自分名義の作品やプロデュース作品がいくつもあるが、本作品はそこまでの作品ではないものの普通に良い作品である。 1970年代初頭から活躍をしているミュージシャンの中で、50年もの間これだけコンスタントに良作を発表し続けているのはイーノだけなのではないかと思う。

2023年4月22日の RECORD STORE DAY で発売された 『 Foreverandevernomore 』 の Voiceless ヴァージョン。
しつこいようだが 『 Foreverandevernomore 』 はヴォーカル・アルバムではなく、声を楽曲の中の一つの構成音として活用した作品である。 よって本作品は 『 Foreverandevernomore 』 のインスト作品ではなく、声を抜き取ったタイトル通りの 『 Forever Voiceless』 である。

Netfrix で放送されたドラマ 『 Top Boy 』 のサウンドトラック。 1曲目の ” Top Boy Theme ” は、2020年にリリースした 『 Film Music 1976-2020 』 にも収録されている。
ドラマ自体は未見なのだが、異なるシチュエーション毎に使われることを前提とした小曲で構成されており、アンビエントものという印象は薄い。
ただこのライトな肌触りはイーノの戦略であり、自分の世界への間口を広げることが目的と思われる。 間口を広げるといっても Netflix のコア視聴者を取り込むのではなく、イーノのことを何となく知っているけど積極的に聴いたことは無いという人を誘い込むことが狙いである。
イーノは時々こうしたアンビエントものの入門編をリリースしているが、本作品はその機能を充分に果たしているだけでなく、従来のイーノのファンも楽しめる内容である。
