『 In The Court Of The Crimson King 』 の 50th Anniversary Edition。 3CD+Blu-ray というフォーマットで、大きなボックスに収められることもなく、日本の住宅事情にも優しいパッケージになっている。
2009年に 40th Anniversary Series としてがリリースされた際に、2019年に 50th Anniversary Series が始まると誰もが思った予感は半分は当たった。 半分というのは、本作品自体には「50th Anniversary Series」というクレジットも、「50th Anniversary」とさえクレジットされていないためである。
そのため、「50th Anniversary Edition」というのも仮称である。
元々40周年の際も、CD+DVD フォーマットには特段のクレジットは無く、ボックスにだけ「40th Anniversary Edition」とのクレジットがあったので、本作品は40周年の際の CD+DVD に準拠したのかもしれない。 あるいは、単に表記の揺れかもしれない。  

40th Anniversary Series で提供された新ミックスは、どの作品も総じて「新たに変えた」ミックスとなっていたため、違和感を感じることがあった。 もちろんそれは良し悪しの話しではなく、オリジナル作品を聴き慣れたことによる違和感に過ぎなかったが。
一方本作品ので新たに提供されたミックスは、「テクノロジーの進歩に伴う新たな」ミックスとなっており、聴いていて非常に楽しい。 勿論違和感を全く感じないこともないが、それ以上に本作品の内容がより丁寧に、より細かく提示されており、何回も何回も聴き直してしまう素晴らしい作品となっている。

本作品はまた、ハイドパークの映像を除きライヴを一切収録しないという割り切りにより、ヴァージョン違い、ミックス違いを含め作品自体によりフォーカスできる編集となっている。 ヴァージョンとミックスの違いも各曲のタイトルに併記されており、それだけで内容が判る配慮がされている。

話しは再び 50周年の位置付けに戻るが、このままシリーズされるかがやはり気になる。 40th Anniversary Series の10年で全て網羅するという荒業だったが、オリジナル作品のリリースから50年後に出し続けるという手もあるかもしれない。
でもそうなると 『 The Power To Believe 』 の50周年盤がリリースされるのは2053年になってしまうが。
