所謂 50th Anniversary Editions は、3CD + Blu-ray の 『 In The Court Of The Crimson King 』 の後にリリースされた『 The Complete 1969 Recordings 』 が 20CD + 2DVD + 4Blu-ray のボックスでリリースされた。 この収録枚数は 40th Anniversary Series のボックスと同等であり、ぶっちゃけ既発のものが多く含まれていた。
その後、The Complete Recording Sessions とクレジットされた 『 Larks' Tongues In Aspic 』 と コンプリート関連のクレジットが無い 『 Red 』 は共に 2CD + 2Blu-ray でリリースされたのは、『 The Complete 1969 Recordings 』 のセールスが振るわなかったのが理由と思われる。

今回同時にリリースされた 『 In The Wake Of Poseidon 』 と 『 Lizard 』 は、CD + Blu-ray とよりコンパクトになっている。
ライヴが行われなかった時期のアルバムということもあるが、数量を減らしたのはまぁ正しい判断だと思う。

そしてその結果本作品は、リミックス集（オリジナル、スティーヴン・ウイルソン、インスト、エレメンタルの4つ） + レコーディング・セッションという判りやすい内容となっている。

この後リリースされるであろう 『 Islands 』 や 『 Starless And Bible Black 』 や Discipline Crimson 以降の作品はライヴが活発に行われているだけに、再びヴォリュームが増えるかもしれない。
ただ個人的には 50th Anniversary Editions は今回同様リミックス集 + レコーディング・セッションという形で統一したほうが良いと思う。
そしてライヴ、セッション、ミックス、発掘音源等てんこ盛りのボックスを、60th Anniversary Series としてリリースしてほしい。
