『 Three Of A Perfect Pair 』 の 40th Anniversary Series は、同シリーズの中でも微妙な位置づけの作品となっている。
オリジナル制作前のアウトテイク集が King Crimson Collectors' Club から既に2作品リリースされていることと、同時期にリリースされたボックス、『 On ( and off ) The Road 』 の最強コンテンツである1984年来日公演の新編集映像にどうしても関心が向かってしまうことがその理由である。
特に後者については、その中から2,3曲だけでも収録されていたら、本作品の価値はもっと上がったと思うし、またボックス発売に向けてのよいプロモーションになったはずである。

もうひとつ、”　Sleepless ” についてもっと突っ込んでもらいたかった。
アメリカのワーナーが「クリムゾンを売ろう」と画策して失敗した企画ではあるが、数多くリリースされているシングル・ヴァージョンをあらためて編集収録してもらいたかった。 DVD-Aに、30th Anniversary remaster からの3曲がそのまま収録されているだけなのが、残念である。

Video content について

” Sleepless ” は既に DVDの 『 Neal And Jack And Me 』 にも収録されている。 フリップがカーテンを開けるシーンが、やはり一番良い。
ただ、やはり本曲にプラスして、1984年来日公演から映像の一部でも、追加収録してほしかった。
